ACERCA DEL AUTOR
Pablo Buffagni nació en 1970 en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires en el barrio de Palermo, que ya no existe en la forma en la que era. Durante la adolescencia, trabajó de profesor de judo y de colonia de verano, paseador de perros, animador de fiestas infantiles, vendedor ambulante, pintor, promotor de antros, tomador puerta a puerta de pedidos de imprenta, y vendedor de billetes de lotería y pilas a los quioscos.
Durante los años 70 y los 80, su padre cambió exageradas veces de auto y de trabajo. Eso llevó a Pablo a ser fanático de los coches. Y cuando a los 18 años empezó a trabajar en una agencia de publicidad, se mantuvo estable en la profesión hasta el día de hoy.
Dos profesores le habían sugerido como carrera “el mundo de la publicidad”, que ya tampoco existe en la forma en la que era. El de arte, que manifestó ver algo rescatable en sus obras y premios en concursos de manchas, y la profesora de literatura, quien durante los exámenes le permitía escribir narraciones libres mientras los demás alumnos contestaban preguntas acerca de libros que Pablo ya había leído muchos años antes.
Igual que durante esas pruebas, hoy Pablo escribe fuera de la publicidad y retrata autos cuando debería estar haciendo otra cosa.
Pablo Buffagni was born in 1970 in Buenos Aires City, in the neighborhood of Palermo, which no longer exists in the way it used to. During his teenage years, he worked as a judo teacher, summer camp coach, dog walker, children's party entertainer, street vendor, painter, club promoter, door-to-door print order taker, and seller of lottery tickets and batteries to convenience stores.
During the '70s and '80s, his father's frequent changes in cars sparked Pablo's love for automobiles. Conversely, his father's excessive job changes influenced Pablo differently and when he began working at an advertising agency at 18, he remained in the same profession until today.
Two teachers had suggested a career in "the world of advertising," which also no longer exists in the way it used to. The art teacher saw something salvageable in his works and awards at painting competitions, while the literature teacher allowed him to write free narratives during exams while other students answered questions about books Pablo had read many years before.
Just as during those tests, today Pablo writes outside of advertising and takes pictures of cars when he should be doing something else.
